They say the hardest site you will ever make is your own, and it's true! There were so many directions that I wanted to go. I tried on many ideas, and couldn't find the right fit. As mentioned before, nature inspires me with its colors. So when I thought about the idea of an underwater scheme– I knew it was the one. I considered adding an octopus, squid, etc. but ultimately it was distracting. The underwater environment largely consists of cool blue water and the rich textured brown sand, with a few near-by creatures.
With the design concept in place– my focus shifted to the content. The movement of the text was a way to mimic the currents and sway of the water. To make this happen I enlisted the help of javascript/programming guru LD Smith to handle all of the page transitions and dynamic effects that give the site the extra zing it needed.
